BILL VANDEWEGHE, MANAGING DIRECTOR

Biography: Bill VanDeWeghe joined RA Capital Advisors in January 2006. Bill heads the firm’s defense industry team developing strategies for clients and executing all facets of M&A transactions and financings. Bill was previously a senior shareholder with a law firm, Klinedinst PC. During the 15 years that he practiced law, Bill worked with a broad variety of corporations throughout southern California, advising executives and business leaders on numerous issues involving their companies. Bill has a deep understanding of the challenges service providers and manufacturers face relating to contract disputes, product liability issues, partnership conflicts and overall business operations.

Bill served as an artillery officer on active duty in the Army from 1983-1987, followed by a position commanding a firing battery in the Virginia National Guard.  Bill was the Republican Party nominee for U.S. Congress, 53rd Congressional District, in 2002.  He earned his bachelor’s degree at Princeton University, and his law degree at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary.

Bill is a member of several defense-related industry groups, and is an FINRA-registered securities representative.

ELIOT PETERS, MANAGING DIRECTOR

Biography: Mr. Peters is a Managing Director with RA Capital Advisors. Since joining the firm in 2003 he has played a critical role advising on mergers, acquisitions, financings and IPO advisory assignments across a wide range of industries totaling over $3.5 billion. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Peters was a senior auditor specializing in the media, technology and hospitality industries with Ernst & Young, LLP and Arthur Andersen, LLP in Los Angeles. During his time with the aforementioned firms Mr. Peters was in charge of the day-to-day operations of the audits of several medium and large public and private companies. Mr. Peters graduated with high honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara where he received a bachelor's degree in business economics with an emphasis in accounting. Mr. Peters is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California and a FINRA-registered securities representative.
